Sustainability at ISCA

ISCA has an outstanding track record in developing and funding international projects and earning high credibility vis-à-vis international institutions. We turn this success into opportunities for our members and partners. The grassroots sport and physical activity sector is diverse and connected to so many aspects of our day-to-day lives.

Future MOVE

Mapping projects across the world that use sport for all to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Physically active populations experience lower rates of chronic diseases which reduces the demand for medical services and reduces healthcare costs. This frees up resources for other critical areas such as education and infrastructure. ISCA supports the creation of safe, inclusive public spaces such as parks, walking trails, and cycle paths that allow individuals from all backgrounds to engage in regular exercise. Parks, greenways, and recreational areas provide spaces for exercise while enhancing biodiversity, mitigating urban pollution and bolstering environmental resilience.

ISCA also advocates for physical activity as a promoter of stronger social connections and community cohesion. Participating in sports, group exercises or community events encourages social interaction, reduces isolation, and builds a sense of belonging. Shared activities strengthen the fabric of communities and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive society. By integrating active lifestyles into daily routines, individuals and societies can make significant strides towards a more sustainable future.
